From bicycle manufacturer to leading supplier of racing parts
Battista Polini founded his company immediately after the Second World War. His initial passion was the manufacture of bicycles, which were an indispensable means of transport at the time. But just a few years later, boosted by the triumph of motorised two-wheelers from Piaggio, the still young Polini brand expanded its product portfolio to include numerous parts for the first mopeds and scooters, including brake shoes and V-belts, for example. Within a few decades, the brand became one of the leading suppliers for the rapidly growing two-wheeler industry. The company also became a partner for hobby mechanics at a very early stage, offering cylinder kits to increase the performance of various moped models as well as larger carburettors. Today, the Polini brand is still based in Alzano Lombardo near Bergamo, but now sells its high-quality parts in 64 countries around the world.
