The main air correction jet influences the premix of gasoline and air and thus has a major impact on the tuning of your carburetor. In the SI carburetor, it is located at the top of the jet assembly above the main jet and the mixing tube, and it has a particularly noticeable effect in the low- to mid-RPM range.
Depending on the jet size, comparatively more or less air is available. The 120 jet delivers less air, which makes the tuning richer, while the 190 jet delivers a lot of air and thus makes the tuning leaner. Especially when using modified air filters, larger cylinders, or making setup modifications, it’s therefore worth adjusting the main air correction jet to suit your engine configuration.
