The bypass is a central component for the tuning of your SI carburetor and primarily influences the lower to medium speed range. In the case of SI secondary throttles with a double designation, it is not only responsible for pure fuel metering: due to the design, the gasoline is already premixed with air in the throttle, which supports mixture preparation in the partial load range. The marking 45/140 stands for the ratio of the two numbers – the smaller the calculated value, the «richer» your scooter runs at moderate speeds, the larger, the «leaner». Especially for longer trips in the half-throttle range, it is worth tuning up here.
