The law prescribes the following lighting for Swiss motorbikes: a front dipped beam and a non-dazzling rear light. In addition, a rear reflector (cat's eye), which must not be triangular in shape, is mandatory. The moped pedals must also be fitted with front and rear reflectors, the illuminated area of which must be at least five square centimetres. More is not mandatory. But more is possible. In principle, no changes may be made to the lighting or the moped headlights unless they are original parts or type-approved versions. However, it is expressly permitted to fit additional parking lights, main beams, indicators, brake lights, forward-facing reflectors and side spotlights. The latter refers to the cat's eyes on the spokes. Such measures definitely make sense because they increase your safety on the road.
